Wigstands of the World Unite!

photos by Loryne

Wigstands come in all sizes, colors and shapes, but they all tell stories. They all share in your journey of recovery while keeping your secret when you don’t want others to see you without your wig on.

We’d love to hear from you, even if our wig stand can’t reach you (it’s currently traveling within Lebanon until she gets the visas she needs to reach you around the world).

But, you can still take part – no matter where you live in the world!

It’s as easy as:

1- Typing out a bit about your breast cancer experience. (Share as much or as little as you want!)

2- Sharing a funny/interesting experience about your wig-wearing experience. (If you didn’t wear a wig, tell us what you did instead.)

3- Giving other women advice for coping with a similar experience.

4- Taking a snapshot of your wig on your own wigstand. (Pretty backgrounds certainly help, but we’re not asking for anything fancy. Don’t worry! And if you didn’t wear a wig, dress your wig stand with what your alternative solution was – a headscarf perhaps? or maybe you boldly went sans-hair altogether?)

5- Send your story and the photo to us to: onewigstand@gmail.com

And we’ll take care of the rest!

That’s all it takes and you’ll be joining in a group project connecting you with other women going through the same thing and inspiring them! Share as much or as little as you like – the most important thing is to let it out.

If you want to keep your name or identity completely private, that’s completely cool with us! (The wig stand is not so good with names anyhow – think the fish in Finding Nemo)

We can’t wait to hear from you 🙂

Great way to get the ball rolling on this one; would be great if this can really start growing as a community effort. Not to mention that self-expression on its own is usually very therapeutic.

    All the luck! 🙂
